What We Make — and Why It Matters

Natural Rattan — harvested from climbing palms that have grown in Indian forests for centuries. Woven by artisans who have spent decades mastering its particular discipline. Rattan is strong, lightweight, and has a natural beauty that no synthetic can approximate. When you hold a rattan piece from Shaalik you are holding something that grew from the earth and was shaped by human hands into something useful, beautiful, and permanent.

Handwoven Macramé — knotted strand by strand by artisans who learned this craft the way all true crafts are learned — slowly, with patience, through repetition until the hands know what the mind no longer needs to direct. Natural Jute — one of the most environmentally generous fibres on earth. Biodegradable. Naturally grown in Indian soil.
